Wow it’s been a while since I visited the world of Twilight. When I was a teen and at the height of Twilight mania, the first few chapters or Midnight Sun were posted online. I remember reading them with my friends and it’s wild that now, 15 years later, I’m reading that finished book.

Returning to Twilight as an adult is wild. I remember the story and the plot but some of the dialogue and the decisions the characters make now really threw me looking at things from the perspective as an adult. Edward and Bella are written like middle aged adults. It’s something that I didn’t really notice as a kid, but now I did laugh a few times wondering why these two have the most generic answers for their favorite things.

I liked seeing more of Alice and the rest of the Cullen’s in this book, that was the best part of the story.

Edward though, is unhinged. The amount of murder and soul contemplation in this book is so much higher than I’d expected. It made me cringe a bit.

I wasn’t really surprised by any of the events of this book, but it was a nostalgic trip back to my childhood. There’s plenty of laughs and WTF moments in this book to keep a previous “Twi-Hard” entertained for a couple days at least.
