Locke & Key, Vol. 3: Crown of Shadows
by Joe Hill
Locke and Key remains one of the more interesting horror series I've read.
This one mostly revolves around around personal demons. Mom isn't doing good. She's drinking a shit-ton and doing inappropriate things to say the least. Then we focus on Kinsey and her issues with her school and friends. Last but not least Zach strikes and the kids are left to defend themselves. What key will be the end result in this battle?
Good: The pacing picks up big time in the 2nd half, finally moving towards a big event. The broken family drama increases and keeps getting better in a terrible way. I also enjoy seeing them still stick together as a family despite it.
Bad: The start was a little slow, as always. He gets that from his pops.
Overall another great volume. I have a feeling this series will go down as one of my favorites for the horror genre. A 4 out of 5.
