The book was extremely well written, and I loved the thoughtful treatment of disability. The exploration of what it's like to be a woman in a male dominated field and the compromises that one might make was very thoughtful. I..... just didn't enjoy the read very much. Vague spoilers ahead Much of the plot felt a little like what I think of as "trauma porn". LIke, how much can we put these characters through, for no real reason? And I find relationships that have a lot of misunderstandings and grudges resulting in years long separations to be painful to read about.
Graphic: Gun violence
Moderate: Homophobia
Minor: Xenophobia
