"All the Real Indians Died Off": And 20 Other Myths About Native Americans by Dina Gilio-Whitaker, Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz

4.0

This is a great book that covers so many important misconceptions about Native Americans, propelled by a settler-colonial state. Living in said state, it is important to at least check this book out once. The arrangement is easy to follow and, while there's definitely a running narrative, you can skip around to the sections you are most interested in. Very accessible and important at a state where so many of these ignorant opinions are still held by many U.S. Americans. It is a great book to read if you're interested in decolonization, oppressor-oppressed relations, indigenous culture, Native American policies under the US government, and revisionist history.
