I can't remember what drew me to this book in the first place, and my review is certainly shaped by reading it as we sit at home as a virus rages around the world, our primary connection to the world being various forms of social media, which made me feel trapped in an entirely different way. This book helped me realize why I felt that way. Her analysis is grounded in a broad range of theoretical perspectives and backed up with her experiences. She is smart without being condescending. I learned a lot and notice myself thinking of some of her ideas throughout these turbulent days, and they help.
