Hounded by Love
by Pia Veleno
[tw for talks of sexual abuse, nothing graphic though]
This is very much a Type-A and Type-B falling love story. Bas is a talented musician sick of living the typical rock and roll life where fans are constantly throwing themselves at him; Reed is practically a recluse who doesn't like crowds and being the center of attention.
It started off with both main characters' points of view being showcased, but then it turned into all about Reed and his quick temper and uneccesarily brash decisions. His personality is understandable considering her was a victim of sexual abuse at a young age, which effected his relationships both romantic and platonic.
He drove me crazy with his quick temper. I'm glad Bas didn't put up with it. I wouldn't have stay that situation no matter how much I loved and cared about a person. But someone not giving up on Reed and simultaneously not putting up with his shit. I think Reed should've been the one to go after Bas, though.
This is the first time I've wanted an ensemble cast of characters in a work. I really wanted to know more about Hecate's Hounds and the bandmates personality, especially Phee's and more of Mairin's. Since the band is Bas' family, I think it would've been cool to see that side of Bas's life. It doesn't take anything away from the overall story, however.
The sex scenes were ok. Reed's thoughts and outbursts kind of got in the way, but they were still decent. Nothing really to complain about in that aspect.
