The Amber Spyglass
by Philip Pullman
4.5 stars.
Wow, finishing out the series strong! I was super impressed by the way Pullman was able to create such a huge universe full of dynamic and intricate characters and then somehow pull it all back together and wrap it up neatly. That is rare and I appreciate the rapid expansion and then successive contraction. As heartbreaking as it was, I also really liked the ending and the complexity of choice. Decisions are, after all, rarely easy. My attention wavered during The Subtle Knife, but I was all in for The Amber Spyglass. A fun adventurous read at any age.
