Iconic! From start to finish, it held me on the edge of terror, and humor never lost its grip. It was everything a queer nerd could take. The protagonist was relatable and funny without being flat or undefined. I couldn't relax from the emotion and the horrifying stakes Lou was up against. This book does tread on subjects such as abandonment and vivid gore. If you are sensitive to those subjects or any of the above-listed content warnings, then I recommend avoiding this one.
Graphic: Animal death, Body horror, Child death, Death, Gore, Violence, Blood, Kidnapping, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Abandonment
Minor: Animal cruelty and Mental illness
