I post these reviews as my reflection. This is book 1 of what I am finding is a long series. I read books 1 and 2 to ensure I got a good feel for the series and I have to say it is very fast paced. Almost so much so that I feel to much is happening in a short period to really build a good story. The world building, character building, plot building, etc just all feel very rushed. The characters all fit a very predictable role. The plot I actually feel like has some uniqueness (no spoilers) and yet through book 2 I have not felt captivated by it. Specifically in this book we jump right in to discovery of his grandfathers ship to him going against if I remember right was 4 different major crime organizations in 1 book? Money was a problem, until it wasn't by the end of Book 1. It truly feels like the author has a lot of (and I will admit interesting) ideas and instead of fleshing them out they jump from one to the next.
All that said, I have enjoyed these as light reading/audio books. They are fun and pretty predictable but I will likely just toss them in between other heavier books. In my opinion it is not a can't put it down series (at least yet).
