World After

You know, I remember rather enjoying book 1 when I read through it. I think I'd been on a bit of a binge of YA post-apocalyptic novels and the first in the series was a departure I suppose, I dunno it's been probably a couple+ years at this point. Anyway, when I got into this one, the first maybe 75% of the book sorta wandered and meandered and otherwise petered around, now really going anywhere. The chapters were - I swear - 5 pages long, my kindle kept telling me it was going to take 3-5 minutes apiece, and there were like 75 when the book was done. Things never really felt like they were taking me anywhere until the last 1/3 to 1/4. The novel sort of crystallized at that point and it was like I was actually reading a novel.
It's not that it was bad, it just wasn't very good.
