I think I've tried to write this review 5 times because it feels like it was so good there's so much to say - but each time I come back to it and the page hasn't saved and I loose all progress... so short and sweet it is.
Bruh - this book was dark. For sure read all the trigger warnings.
The darkness makes sense as both sides of the war are - at this point - committing atrocities of war/war crimes and it's rough to read. Then this bright spot develops of people who are like "what the fuck are we doing" and it's finally good!
Our FMC and MMC are also not speaking - so this book felt slower paced (but I still devoured it in one sitting). Rightly so too - I was happy Karou doesn't forgive Akiva right away or really at all within the contents of this book.
Also thank GOODNESS for Zuze's chapters or I think I would have been crying the whole time.
