Lost Among the Living by Simone St. James

4.5

After finishing Lost Among the Living, I am officially caught up on all of Simone St. James backlist!

The book follows Jo to her late husband’s aunt’s estate where she encounters a familial mystery.

I think Simone St. James is the queen of ghost stories! They are perfectly creepy and the imagery of the spirits always lodges itself into my brain and at times makes it hard to sleep. 😳 I enjoy the sprinkling of romance in all her books, but I think they’d be great without it too! I also love the strong heroines in her books. They are regular women who overcome their fears to solve mysteries and do what they think is right.

While there were some predictable twists in this book, there were others that I wasn’t 100% sure of until revealed. I really enjoyed going along with Jo on this mystery. I did end up knocking off a 1/2 star because it dragged a little in the middle.

I’m so excited for Murder Road coming out March 2024!

My ranking of all her books:
The Sun Down Motel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Haunting of Maddy Clare ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lost Among the Living ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟
The Other Side of Midnight ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Broken Girls ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Book of Cold Cases ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Silence for the Dead ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An Inquiry Into Love and Death ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ghost 19 ⭐️⭐️
