Nobody Cares Unless You're Pretty is the 1st book in her latest series. This was a pure delight to read especially as this was my first Lani Lynn Vale and I absolutely adored it. I just want to bang my head against the wall for neglecting this author for so long. I have been hearing the best things about her books and I definitely seeing why so many love her work. This was such a fun MC romance. I have definitely been wanting to read more MC and this definitely ticked off all the boxes for me.
I found this story to be so interesting though. It wasn't as dark as I thought it would be, which I am totally good with. It was a mix of contemporary, suspense and some grittier elements. But it didn't have the full MC feel to it as it doesn't have some of the more toxic elements you can find like the crude language and treatment of women. This one it was so much better than I expected and I really had a blast with it. So if you don't like the darker MC, then I definitely recommend this one as it had a refreshing feel to it.
I really enjoyed this mix of characters and seeing this MC being formed of ex convicts who are just making their way through paving a new life for themselves. It does have some darker elements as the hero has killed, but more like vigilante style, killing those who are pedophiles. It definitely worked for me. We are introduced to some fun characters through. I really loved the suspense elements that adds a sense of thrills to the plot. Seeing the characters connect with each other and the romance develop was definitely a plus.
Overall I had a fun time with this one, and so eager to read the other books in the series as they get released! Definitely a keeper!
