This book is like a modern take on the Scarlett letter, but instead of being accused of adultery, she's accused of killing a child. The punishment: chroming, where they change the color of your skin. I think the concept of chroming is new and interesting. It just seems very far fetched. There is a sub plot of a love story which kept me engaged. I give it three stars, not because it wasn't interesting or written well, it was. Rather, the story of the accused woman is slightly over done for me.
