Tales from the Perilous Realm by J.R.R. Tolkien
4.0
This is a collection of Tolkien stories that are not usually related to Middle Earth (although they sometimes preview or lightly touch on Middle Earth). They are all quite good in standard terms, although of mixed quality by the standards of Tolkien's more well known work. Either way, they are worth a read for Tolkien fans.
(I will admit I only skimmed the essay "On Fairy-Stories". You would think that Tolkien on the topic of Faerie would be fascinating... but it very much as part of a larger contemporary conversation that I was not privy to, so I ultimately found it rather dull.)
