I am trying to decipher why I was so obsessed with this series in jr high and I have yet to find it. Perhaps it's because Suze is an edgy-leaning feminine person who is down for a good brawl rather than afraid of breaking a nail? Because she's Not Like Other Girls but still kiiinda respects them? These do read like they'd be rather dated (socially and otherwise) by the time I first read them so I'm surprised that skipped my notice the first time through but. eh. I was 13.

The stories aren't High Art™ or Revolutionary™ or anything, but they are a breeze to read and kinda fun. I weirdly enjoy the characters – adults, ghosts, and teens alike – face logical consequences for their actions (i.e. arrests, hospitals, etc) which tend to be overlooked in young-leaning YA. Also live for paranormal teen romances still for some reason lmao.
