I absolutely loved this book!

These characters are so captivating and the story itself is fascinating.

Our FMC goes through a lot throughout her life and watching her struggle through her emotions while still trying to navigate the world as “normal” as possible is something readers can resonate with. She has experienced MULTIPLE traumas and I love that her coping has never been glossed over. We see that she is strong and trying to do what she needs to but we’re still able to see her struggle. There’s no “I’m a bad ass female and I don’t need to cry over trauma”. It’s real. It’s raw. It’s something that captivates me within this story.

The world building is smooth, we get a sense of it from the characters perspective as she is learning some of the new information but we also get a general sense of it so we don’t feel blind sided. It’s great.

“Because sometimes we just need someone to sit with us in the darkness in the middle of the mess.”
