Feverborn by Karen Marie Moning
1.0
Read for Fun (Gifted Hardcover)
Overall Rating: DNF
DNF Thoughts: I read the first 150 pages of Feverborn and was going to wait on the audio to finish it (I have it coming). I love Luke and Jill so I was fairly sure I would enjoy their narration. The first pages were too much Mac for my taste (again a reminder that I find her the most annoying UF lead--I am a Dani fan). I felt like we were just getting the same Mac/Barrons tug and pull. Boring quite frankly. That being said, I am still loving Christian, Lor, Ryo aka all the boys! I am ready for Jada to be gone and Dani to be back. However, on top of other things I have lost faith that Dani will ever be the focus.
I returned this book for personal reasons but I also did not enjoy the story. Mac/Barrons are just not who I would want to see as the focus of this series.
Added Audio Thoughts 2/5/2016:
I got the audiobook for review after DNFing the book. Since a lot of the reason that I DNF'd had to do with a very strong opinion surrounding the narrations of the stories (aka I was pro the new direction/opposed to the initial statement of going back to the originals). I wanted to add my audio thoughts.....
Luke Daniels and Jill Redfield did an excellent job with the narration. Was it different? Absolutely! Was there an adjustment to the new "voices"? Yes! This is the 3rd narrator for Mac and I think Jill is probably the closest to making her sound her age. Mac is young (24/25) and honestly has some immaturity that I think Jill balanced really well. Luke did a great job with the guys. They take the biggest adjustment but I think I actually like his take on Ryo on more. Overall, if I had any intention of continuing this series--I would do it with Jill/Luke!
