In true Darby fashion I was hooked from page one but unfortunately this ended up being a little lackluster.

I had it figured out from page 1 which isn’t usually the case for a Darby book - if you exclude her last which I like to forget exists 🙃

I can look past a predictable thriller if it’s fun while it plays out but damn was this repetitive. And it wasn’t repetitive in the way that we needed to build the plot, it was just repeating the same things over and over for no reason I had to start skimming towards the end bc I just couldn’t do it anymore.

The meat of the story is great. It’s a very fun take on a whodunnit and very what the fuck as you would expect from Darby. It’s just not dialed in like it should be.
