All He'll Ever Be by W. Winters
1.0

I've never been more irritated by two main characters in my entire life. They were just so... He had this weird manly alpha complex that was annoying, and he kept going on and on about breaking her. Look, I like a dark romance sometimes, but that's completely too much for me. They didn't even have any chemistry; they just had sex every five minutes. Forcing her to eat out of your hands? Is she a dog, and how was that supposed to make her want to eat more? And how did he get mad at her for choosing her family over the man who kidnapped her, locked her in a cell, and treated her like a literal animal?

And then there's Aria, who I tried so hard to like because I sympathized with her. I get it's a Beauty and the Beast retelling, but the Stockholm syndrome was wild in this book. Aria has no real self-respect or strength, but she was somehow painted as this strong female character. There's nothing wrong with making a submissive character, but trying to paint her as strong is wild. Like I said, I understand she got kidnapped because of her dumbass father, but she was just acting really stupid the whole time. She claimed she was so strong but never stood up for herself. The same thing goes for all of his brothers too. They kept saying how wrong it was to lock her away but never made it easier for Aria, nor did they even attempt to truly persuade him to let her go.

In conclusion, this is not a love story. This is a book where a wannabe alpha male with serious control issues kidnaps a girl with severe daddy and abandonment issues, and then they just have sex the whole time without ever communicating. Not to mention, their whole relationship is abusive as hell. He literally whooped her because she wanted to get away from him to help her family, and then she agreed with his reasoning and tried to earn his forgiveness.
