After eagerly starting the book with high expectations, I had hoped for a deep exploration of a Korea far from Seoul near the North Korean border. However, it only offered fleeting glimpses. The narrative’s scattered structure and brief chapters made it challenging to follow. Certain passages also left me feeling uneasy. Perhaps I missed the book’s message, or it simply wasn’t a good fit for me.
