Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five has been in my TBR for a while. While I think Vonnegut is a talented writer, I don’t know that I’m the right audience for his work. For me, the plot jumped around too much and a lot of the phrasing felt inconsequential and passive. It was hard to keep track of the characters, but I did enjoy the overall concept of reliving a traumatic experience alongside scifi elements (like time-travel). For me this book felt really long, but I’m sure there are a lot of people who would disagree with me. If you’re a fan of Vonnegut’s I’m sure you’ll enjoy this piece as well, but for me, it fell short. And so it goes…
