At first I was like why are we reading this and everything finally clicked. I tried to read this as the first book and put it down because I knew nothing. I really wish the reading order was laid out differently. A friend of mine recommended to read it after Crown of Midnight and now I’m itching to start Heir of Fire. Everything made sense but do I think this was necessary? No. You could, in my opinion, skip this book completely. It gave insight but I haven’t read the rest of the series and maybe my opinion will change when I finish the series. Good reads, very entertaining.
