Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

3.0

On the one hand, I can't believe I didn't write a review for this sooner, as I did enjoy parts of it. On the other hand, there's not a lot to say, so I can see how it was put off. Ultimately, I thought this was an interesting addition to the series. I think Smeyer's writing has improved, and Edward as a character is wildly more interesting than Bella, so I enjoyed his perspective for the most part. The additional scenes included on he and Bella talking--missing from her side of the story--were quite charming, and I appreciated their inclusion. Also more of the Cullens. Who wouldn't want that?

That said, Edward is still a creep, and I found the last third supremely boring, just as I do in Twilight. There's no real action for me, and I don't care about Bella, so there's that. Generally speaking, though, I enjoyed this! It's way too long, but if I were ever going to reread the start of this saga, I'd probably prefer Edward's version to Bella's.
