American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer
by Martin J. Sherwin, Kai Bird
This guy was an odd duck. More than likely he would be on the spectrum by today's standards. His wife was also odd and a raging alcoholic.
The book kept the focus on him and his life and didn't get into all the science behind the bomb or all the people/environmental destruction it caused.
