The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara
5.0

I wasn't sure I was going to like this book. It's all about battle and fighting, and that's not the type of book I usually pick up; however, I thought this book was fascinating. I learned so much about the battle of Gettysburg that I never knew before or had forgotten from my eighth grade history class. While reading about what happened to Chamberlain on the top of Little Round Top I was amazed by the will of those men and what they accomplished. I still may not know the difference between a corps, division, and a brigade, but I now understand more about the motivation and decisions of both the South and the North in regards to Gettysburg. Shaara did a great job of describing what it's like to be in that kind of battle--at least he made it come alive for me.
