Nekosuke’s work is absolutely beautiful, there’s really no other way to say it.
Every illustration in the book basically sucks you in with how mysterious and mesmerising they are, it’s almost SLIGHTLY creepy which adds to the charm.
I will say though that the ‘Exotica’ sections and some other illustrations are, while beautiful, almost uncomfortable to look at? It’s hard to describe how I feel about it. This is purely my interpretation butthe enlarged animals give of a sort of predatory vibe, especially alongside the diminuitive characters who are in varying states of undress. That doesn’t deduct points of the rating however, I’m just express my thoughts.
