Maddie by Amber R. Duell, Candace Robinson

5.0

Thank you to Candace for granting me an arc of Maddie.

First I absolutely love the idea of a vampire version of Alice In Wonderland. Secondly I love that the Hatter is a woman.

Maddie was such an amazing character. I loved how she sang and skipped around, but could also kick ass if she needed to. I also liked that the romance between herself and Noah was a slow burn and not at all rushed. Sure they did things together but they didn't go all the way until near the end of the book and I felt that for them it was more meaningful.

Noah was just adorable. He knew what he wanted and he went for it. I don't want to ruin anything by saying what happens to him, or even Maddie, so I won't. I'll let the readers find out, but he took everything in his stride. All for the love of his sister and his growing affections for Maddie.

Maddie also has a sister she wants to protect: Mouse. Mouse is being kept a prisoner in Imogen and Rav's castle and despite her growing feelings for Noah, all she wants is to save her sister from their clutches.

I can't wait to learn more about Chess in the next story. It seems to be one of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers.
