The Sword of Honour Trilogy by Evelyn Waugh, Frank Kermode

3.0

The challenging aspects of this trilogy is that it is very much of its time and place. It requires a lot of research on specific English-WWII slang/terms. Hilarious and satirical, it is not always for a 'universal' audience and researching the context & era-specific humor interrupted the flow of the narrative (like having to explain a joke-- punch line gets lost)
