The Hollow
by Jessica Verday
This book was a waste of my time... the main character was annoying, pretty much throughout the book. She makes perfumes as a hobby and it comes up in conversations and every other thought she has because she is, oh yes, planning to make a career out of it. She pines over her best friend Kristen who died right before the book started and she pines over Caspian who seems to be interested in her, but maybe isn't and oh, she loves him sooooooo much. The setting of the book is Sleepy Hollow, yes that Sleepy Hollow and "the Legend" gets thrown in in every possible way as well. I don't think this book could be more overdone. There is very little plot throughout the majority of the 500+ double-spaced(??) pages but then she throws in a crazy but not well-done twist at the end of book, I assume to hook the reader into the rest of the trilogy. I will not be falling for that bit, sorry.
