The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss

4.0

Kate Turner hasn’t dated anyone since she broke up with her boyfriend...awhile ago. Her best friend convinces her to sign up with a dating service that is offering The Twelve Dates of Christmas where you go on 12 dates with 12 different people. Kate reluctantly signs up and finds herself in a whirlwind of dates that range from hilarious to painful. All while managing living in a small English village, her precarious friendship with Matt, owner of the local cafe, a manic mother, a father she overly worried about and working her art design job remotely. Kate is a busy girl!

This book was such a sweet holiday read. I was completely immersed in Kate’s world and am completely smitten with her village and it’s inhabitants. I loved all the supporting characters (of which there are many) and found Kate to be endearing and likable. Nothing about this book is earth shattering but there is comfort in predictability which is exactly what I was craving and exactly what I received. If you want a light holiday story set in a snowy English village, you have found it!
