Ok, so putting this down. Very disappointing.
The first 80 pages are so cringe and annoying. The protagonist (Charlie) is one of those “I’m not like all those other girls” trope. It’s like those popular TikTok memes of “male authors writing female characters” - IT’S THAT. It’s full of cliches for every single character and to top it off since the author decided to leave descriptions bare minimum the quirk of the protagonist uses movies and actors to describe how people look (imo that is just lazy).
ANYWAYS - after the initial backstory and introduction, all the characters act stupid (even the serial killer and if you know anything about serial killers is that they are not stupid), the way that they interact with each other (I stopped after 11pm) is not realistic (I cannot imagine ignoring a woman’s cry for help) and it’s just bad. I feel like this was a book written to please publishers. Not thought out.

This is weak sauce.
