Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom by John O'Donohue

3.0

Maybe I just wasn't in the right place to read this, but I found myself unpleasantly lost in the mist of this book. I'm sure there was some organization in some sense, but it often felt that wave after unrelated wave of ideas lapped at my little boat. I was frustrated by the stories that appeared without introduction, without source, without any context at all.

When I heard an interview with this author on NPR, I really enjoyed his style, but I suppose I appreciate it less in writing.

Still, I am sending this book to a friend! I think he will enjoy the emphasis on embodied spirituality and interpersonal connection as a sacred space.
