10 years after its release and i finally read the fault in our stars. Though i hadn’t read it prior this book felt nostalgic, probably due to the fact that when it was published you quite literally could not escape it.

I flew through it in under 24 hours which i haven’t done with a book for ages now and it was refreshing to feel so swept up in a book that was fast paced and impactful.

Is it the perfect book? no, for example hazel was the quintessential “not like other girls” character that was typical of 2012 but look it wasn’t unbearable and she was still a likeable character (for me at least). I understand why it is so widely loved and i can now say i’ve finally read a john green book and that i enjoyed every second i spent reading it.

(I received my copy for free from Penguin, this has not influenced my thoughts or opinions in any way)
