The Midnight Hunt by L.L. Raand

3.0

So, I read this book as part of a challenge and it filled the requirement of a type of book I have never read before. I have read a few books where the main characters and subsequently many of the minor characters were gay, but never with lesbians. It was recommended to me with the warning that it was filled with lots of gushing female parts. See this funny accurate review for more details.

The scholar in me really wants to understand the physiology of our female leads and how their sex actually works, but I have decided to try not to think too hard about it.

While there is a lot of sex, it does not actually over power the story that kept my interest. We have a world where vampires, werewolves, and fae have revealed themselves and are now trying to get equal rights for themselves. At the same time, someone has been kidnapping female wolves and our protagonist and Alpha needs to find out who and why. She also has to deal with the overpowering lust that affects the wolves naturally and what to do now that she has found her very human mate.

The first of its series, this book consists of world building, or in this case species building, and our characters gaining a lot of information.
