The Angel's Cut by Elizabeth Knox

2.0

My ex highly recommended the first book, so I gave it a try. I fell in love with Xas. By the time I got this book, that relationship was over. I still loved Xas, but not his story.

This book -- for all its flaws -- has some great moments, though they are few and fleeting; from it's lessons about life and death, to the most powerful lesson in the book: love, and the risks of loving.

Finishing this book, I have a greater understanding of Xas's story but -- MORE IMPORTANTLY -- of my past relationship. Which can be perfectly summarized in one of my favourite quotes from the book:

And then Xas thought, 'I did love him, after all.' Sure he made a mistake with Cole, and had given his heart where he stood to lose it. But that was good, it was right, it was what should happen, it was the way faith worked, it was the proper use of love.
