Id probably give this more of a 2.5, and while the author is a great writer and the discussions about identity and privilege are necessary, I felt the characters felt very flat, and the trans character who is a main part of Jude’s life couldve been pushed and discussed a lot more, especially given the time period. And the book also lost me at the second half, especially with Kennedy and I wasn’t satisfied by the end but I know I’m in the minority with this.
