○ It's interesting most famous-people-name drops were not only recognised be me, but are still relevant to this day; such as Jamie Oliver and David Beckham, considering this book is fifteen years old.
○ I liked the silly, funny and punny one-liners and plots! For example, a character's 'blood blood' was removed, taking the phrase literally. Another example is that there was a boy who was turned into a comma because he never uses them.
○ Sometimes I like a book like this which is highly unrealistic and/or set in a strange universe, meaning the author's imagination can really be as wild/imaginative as they want!

○ I expected this book to have references to snot, spit and sick - because of the usage of the word 'gruesome' and 'gory' in the title - and it did! But references to murder, torture, a noose, a ball and chain and a swishing cane, as well as an 11-year-old boy enjoying his 'fans' looking in his bedroom window at his 'naked torso', 'snatching' children from their beds, a photo of kittens beaten to death being referred to, hitting someone with a spade and putting them in a grave, as well as two references to police not being able to intervene, as well as 'pricking' (piercing the skin of) people and the usage of the word 'freak' is appalling. There was also frequent references to death. The usage of the word 'ugly' in this book doesn't seem like much after all that!
○ To continue the last point, I haven't even mentioned the use of the word 'harakiri', which I Googled to find is sui**** via disembowelment'! I apologise for that gory definition, but keep in mind the author wrote this in a children's book! It says 'kids' in the title! It was misspelt in the book, but I think that is what was being referred to as Google said 'Did you mean..?'.
○ This book was very anti-monarchy and anti-Christian. For example, a monk's religious clothing was mocked, among other things. I may not be pro-royal or religious, but I don't think these are beliefs that should be featured in a children's book; it's too political.
○ The children-aged characters in this book were too cheeky and rude in my opinion.

○ This book was a little difficult to find on Goodreads. I had searched 'Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids' and it didn't come up. I tried 'Grizzly Tales' and it didn't come up. I had to search 'Grizzly Tales Jamie Rix', and it finally came up. I imagine this is simply because it's not very famous, and as of currently, has less than ten ratings, and I appear to be the first person to write a review despite this book being fifteen years old as I mentioned earlier.
