Thanks to reading other reviews I think understand what the message was supposed to be, but feel it could have been conveyed in a better manner. I'm sometimes okay with not getting full answers with stories, but this story was so vague and convoluted. It really borders on pretentious and unnecessarily high brow. Maybe I'm just not smart enough for such a graphic novel. It just could have been done in a way that made more sense.

I will say though some of artwork was beautiful. I really enjoyed the different styles and coloring for each time period. I wasn't a huge fan of the art style for the 1890 time period though.

There were parts of the story I did enjoy, even if it with the convoluted mess. My least favorite was the 2050 storyline, it was really confusing.

After reading this I don't think I'll read anything else by Si Spencer.

I only knew about this book because of the tv show "adaptation," which I loved. Honestly though the TV show and this graphic novel really aren't comparable as they are vastly different. The show has a better flowing plot, but the plot is not the same as the plot of this graphic novel. Because of some changes the same message that is said in this graphic novel did not translate to the show in my opinion.
