Bad Alpha by Kathryn Moon
5.0

Kathryn Moon is in a league of her own. Let’s be real, romance is a genre that’s not exactly known for high quality literature- most of us are reading it for the relationships and the escapism. But Kathryn’s writing is so rich, so detailed, and so well organized that she really just knocks it out of the park every single time.

Bad Alpha is an incredible addition to the beloved Sweetverse. I love the portrayal of Eve and the character growth that we see throughout her story. The combination of aggression and vulnerability provides us with a new kind of FMC in this genre. The idea of a female Alpha in omegaverse is pretty rare, but it WORKS here. I think romance in general doesn’t usually focus on female dominance and at first I wasn’t really drawn to the idea, but I trusted Kathryn and she did not disappoint!

I felt that the pack members were balanced and each had a well-define role and place in the pack. Nobody felt extra or unnecessary. Stand-alone RH books often don’t have enough bandwidth for each character to really be developed, but I really felt that each of the main characters in this book got their own moments to be centerstage and nobody really got left behind.

The book is well-developed, engaging, and just an all around good read. I didn’t want to put it down. Even though it’s a standalone, we are left with a little cliffie at the end to keep us on the hook for the next book (with a different set of MCs).
