Cruel Justice by M.A. Comley

3.0

2.5 stars. I seldom score low but how to allocate a rating on a book with a not too bad story but with extremely unlikeable characters? Plot not bad, pace was good, writing good. Unfortunately there is nothing to like about Lorne. Self centered, her needs, her wants, her job, her interests and no thought or action to spare for her family. This irritation dominated the book for me. I could not find one redeeming quality. The other characters are there because you need more than one, no other reason for their presence on the pages. Pete? Just a fat blob by her side. Her boss? Just a thorn in her side. The pathologist? Just a distraction. Her family? Just not important.
