This poetry collection is amazing, I adore it so much. I love the way Plath uses prose and rhythm and how when you read it, it’s like the rhythm is fighting you to get the poem and story out. I also love the descriptions of fertility, her relationships and life. I also love that a lot of poems are very reminiscent of old gothic novels where the environment is a threat in the poems; like something Plath has to conquer and destroy before it kills her. This poem collection is amazing and definitely worth anyone’s time even if you’re not a huge fan of poetry, it’s extremely accessible and easy to read.
