Did not finish book. Stopped at 17%.

I think my expectations for this book were a rich cultural historical fiction, with a little bit of fantasy thrown in, which didn't line up with my experience of the book. I feel like I didn't get that much cultural insight, and I couldn't tell if the setting was historical or made up. I don't feel like we got to know the main character at all before her love interest showed up--except that she's pretty. But don't worry, she's humble about it. I really wanted to like this but just felt so over it almost immediately.
