Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

4.0

This is either the perfect time to read this book or the worst possible time.

I liked best the description of the airport mini-civilization. FWIW, I found the Arthur character really unlikeable with not a lot of back story to account for his unlikeability. The non-linear plotline seemed like a distraction from the fact that...there really wasn't any plotline. That said, there was some incredible world-building going on, even though I had a hard time believing it would be so hard to find printed material to read after civilization and that no one had or would find a hand-crank or battery generator to fire up anything electronic past day 10 or whatever (I have both.)

Entertaining and reading while listening to white noise to block out beeps from my neighbor's malfunctioning carbon monoxide alarm made it extra creepy!
