This book was phenomenal. The writing was excellent (though there was some back and forth with the character thinking about past events and going on long tangents to get back to the present scene which was a bit too lengthy for me at times), but overall I really enjoyed it. Some of the scenes took be by surprise with the sudden gruesome descriptions, but they worked well and I enjoyed the shock of them. The characters were flawed but I still rooted for them (even knowing the likely outcome). I thought it was extremely unique and a refreshing change from other types of horror I’ve read. Really amazing book! I would highly recommend.
