The Miss Peregrine's series is fun, if not a little gimmicky. The old photographs that inspired the books are an interesting addition, though the images and their contents often feel shoehorned into the plot line. A little cheesy here and there, but overall Riggs has constructed a rich and compelling world that's fun to read your way through.
