Lauren Conrad Style by Lauren Conrad

3.0

Lauren Conrad was everywhere when I was in junior high and high school. Every girl wanted to be her. She had what seemed like a glamorous life, and she was on her own TV show. I really thought of her as someone real, and I've always admired her, even to this day. I even buy some pieces from her Kohl's fashion line because they are cute and affordable. I can even wear them to work and still feel professional.

When I found this book for $8 at a discount store, I grabbed it. I could always use a little help when it comes to fashion and style. I'm not afraid to admit it. Sometimes, I just put some whacky stuff together. Sometimes, I just don't know what kind of accessories to wear with dresses to make it feel like a complete outfit.

What I liked about the book:
It is a very easy read. I'm sure that it is probably written at a sixth grade level.
Lauren Conrad makes you feel like she is your best friend with her writing style.
She really does have some helpful advice.

What I didn't like about the book:
She uses the phrase "rule of thumb."
There isn't enough information to help people of other shapes and sizes with their style choices.
I felt like there is not enough information in the book. I've seen much of it before in magazines, so that disappointed me.

But it was a good book, and I will probably pick up Beauty when I find it in paperback, if it ever comes out in paperback.
