Definitely one of the masters of sci-fi, Asimov creates a world (universe!) that is so detailed, fantastical, and so beleiveable that it's frightening. This first installment (chronologically) of the Foundation series was great, I loved the twists and turns the story took. I also loved the little excerpts at the beginning if each chapter from the Galactic Encyclopedia; giving little hints as to what might happen next, but from the perspective of future history!
