Reel Love by Julie A. Richman

5.0

Reel Love is Julie A. Richman's newest fun, flirty, unique love story. I've been a fan of Julie's since her first book and she was the first author I stalked on facebook! I still stalk her and I won't even apologize for it! Her writing is top notch and her stories are always unique with characters we fall in love with. Francesca wrote a book and it became a best seller and now it's going to be made into a movie. As the author she gets the final say in casting and when she sees Finn Parker it's like he jumped out of her head and into the audition. He's exactly how she wrote him. And it's messing with her head. Especially when she keeps running into him all over town and actually gets to know him. It's hard to separate her character from the real man. Finn wants this job. No, he needs it. Getting the lead in Fleeing and August Moon would change his life. He didn't expect to like the author so much. Frankie is the realest woman he's met in years. She eats actual food and indulges in dessert and can't stand avocado toast! She's a breath a fresh air and that's just what Finn's life needed and he didn't even know it. But he doesn't even know where to draw the line. He wants this role, but he wants Frankie. Can he have both? Will Frankie be able to separate the fact from the fiction and choose the best man for her Griffin? I loved this story! I felt for Frankie because I have a few book boyfriends and if I ran into someone who looked just like them I would freak out! But she's a professional and she's determined to do what's best for her film adaptation of her book. I loved watching Finn remember his real self. He's three men in one and he's been hiding for far too long. Frankie didn't even realize she helped him decide he needed to make some changes inside himself. Reading the book and preparing for the role showed him that he wanted to be more like her character, Griffin. Get his soul back. Become who he was before he became Finn Parker. Frankie and Finn have undeniable chemistry, but so many obstacles in their way. In a place like Hollywood, how can you tell what's real? Who's real? How can you trust your heart when your head sees so many different things? Frankie and Finn's love story just made me happy! The have flirty banter, sexy chemistry and a deeper connection than either of them even thought they would find. Overall, I loved every word and didn't want it to end. This is why Julie is one of my favorite authors. She's in a class all by herself!

“But the reality is, I’m sitting here half-naked with you eating post-coital cookies.”
She laughs and repeats, “Post-coital,” clearly amused.
“So, maybe we should just refer to them from here on out as fucking cookies. As in, I brought you your favorite fucking cookies.”

“Mmm, that is good. Gotta love a man who can act, cook, decorate, and is damn good in bed.”

"I say if you don’t kiss me right here and now, I’m going to die.”
“That’s my girl.”
