Heretics Anonymous by Katie Henry

As someone who went to Catholic school for 12 years, I appreciated that he narrator was coming in from outside to consider its goings-on from another perspective. When you are raised in that environment (as is so often the case), it's easy to believe there is no other way to live or think. I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the author about the questions she raises and allows reasonable critique and smart rebuttals on issues of religion. I also liked the acknowledgment that sometimes the court of public opinion is the only place to go, understanding that often the public at large will have a different opinion and options than the institution in which problematic shit is happening in.
